Why aren’t there any in California, Hawaii, Ohio, Tennessee or Texas (places where I bank)?

FDIC insurance still applies. For this article, DIF insurance also applies to small businesses, etc.

True, we can spread our deposits around unique repositories to “stack” the FDIC coverage. What about FDIC coverage for small business, churches, etc. who are not individual depositors?
